The vital objective of kindergarten is simply to start well. You want to lay a faithful foundation, and set a fruitful trajectory for future learning and discipleship.

This is the year of small beginnings: first letters, first numbers, first stories.

Because “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge” (Prov. 1:7), we strongly urge parents to lay the kindergarten foundations explicitly on Christ. 

For instance, instead of “See Spot run,” start with, “In the beginning.” And rather than just “A is for Apple,” keep going and add, “God made apples for us to enjoy!”

A curriculum for parents who believe that education is discipleship

This curriculum does NOT aim to replicate the public education method at home.

It is not focused on “classroom” learning, pure academics, or exams. You can use it in a classroom…and your kids will certainly be challenged to think and learn…and there are built-in grading guides.

But fundamentally, our curriculum is shaped by the conviction that education is discipleship, that teaching should form character as much as knowledge, and that learning works best when integrated into life. As God Himself says:

These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall speak of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up. (Deuteronomy 6:6–7)

This curriculum is the fruit of our own long experience seeking to follow God’s “walk-along, talk-along” way of teaching. We have fine-tuned and calibrated it to make this method as straightforward as possible, and to focus not just on head-knowledge, but heart-character and hand-work.

• Heart: do kids love God, and treat His Word as foundational to understanding everything they learn?

• Head: do kids know the facts, and how they relate back to God and His Word?

• Hands: can kids actually apply what they’ve learned by loving God and neighbor, rather than being hearers only?

When you only focus on the head, you can’t produce adults who are “complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Tim. 3:17). But with this curriculum, you can start to plant the seeds that produce such adults over time.

• A solid biblical worldview is baked onto every page, of every subject, always guiding kids back to Christ, in Whom all things are being gathered together (Eph. 1:10)...

• Discussion prompts help you build deeper relationships with your kids, and guide them in building a deeper relationship with God (while still getting the academics done)...

• Life-application assignments guide kids to worship, exercise dominion on God’s behalf, and love their neighbors, showing how all three are a natural result of what they have learned.
