"It is my purpose to write an account of the successions of the holy apostles, as well as of the times which have elapsed from the days of our Saviour to our own; and to relate the many important events which are said to have occurred in the history of the Church; and to mention those who have governed and presided over the Church in the most prominent parishes, and those who in each generation have proclaimed the divine word either orally or in writing..." -Eusebius

The kingdoms of men have their histories and so do Christians. While the stories of the kingdoms of men fade with their empires, these are the stories that have never faded because the Church of Jesus Christ continues to flourish in every corner of this world today. And, the gates of hell cannot prevail against it. These essential writings on church history give first hand accounts of the development of the Christian church in the Western world. This account is the true heritage of every Christian in the world and should be treasured as such.
To ignore church history in favor of other histories would be akin to despising our Christian heritage. Thus, this anthology includes the essential, must-read classics for every Christian student. The course begins with the writings of the Apostolic Fathers, the men who were discipled by the Apostles themselves. Also included in the study is Eusebius' monumental work on the history of the Christian church from AD 30 to AD 325 (Books 1-8). Following this comes from Venerable Bede's Ecclesiastical History of the English Church and Phillip Schaff's classic material on the pre-reformation and reformation periods of the Western church.
The course materials will also provide the student with historical surveys that tie together key church historical events, personalities, revivals, and developments.
