Math 4
Features
How It Works:
- Lesson days alternate with practice days. New material one day, review the next, so skills stick. 144 lessons fit a 30–36 week school year.
- No prep for the parent. Lessons are written at a 4th-grade reading level. Read them aloud together, or let your child work on their own.
- Scripture in every lesson. Each lesson opens with a passage that ties God's Word to the math, such as the lost sheep and lost coin alongside finding a missing number.
- "Everyday Math" problems speak to your child directly. For example: "Imagine you have 6 jars of honey…"
- 12 "Go" days apply math to real life, such as planning your money, finding angles in God's world, and baking for others.
- A capstone chapter on investigating God's world. Your child runs real experiments: dissolving salt, sprouting radish seeds, testing reaction times, and comparing battery life. They then collect the data and chart it.
- Supplies you probably already have: a ruler, a protractor, a calculator, dice, and a tape measure.

"People did not invent the rules of math. God did. We only discover the rules."
Math 4 takes your fourth grader through a year of discovery. They'll learn long multiplication and long division with two-digit divisors, fractions, angles, unit conversions, and their first algebra equations. Every lesson opens with Scripture. Word problems put your child in the story, and life-application days take math into the kitchen, the garden, and the family business.
What Your Child Will Learn
- Multiplication and division: 2-digit × 2-digit multiplication with carrying, multiplying by numbers that end in zeros, remainders, and long division with two-digit divisors
- Fractions, decimals, and percents: unlike denominators, mixed numbers, reducing and expanding fractions, greatest common factors, multiplying fractions, and percentages of a group
- Geometry: angles greater than 180°, complementary and supplementary angles, the angles of a triangle, and graphing with coordinates
- Measurement: customary, metric, and time conversions, including converting the measurements found in the Bible
- Pre-algebra: variables, solving addition, subtraction, and multiplication equations, and simple inequalities
- Data and statistics: averages, intervals, bar and line graphs, trend charts, and organizing data in spreadsheets
- Coding and logic: step-by-step instructions, loops, and IF–THEN–ELSE thinking
Is Your Child Ready?
Math 4 assumes your child has memorized the single-digit addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts. Speed drills along the way help confirm that.
